About this voice
Cantonese is the everyday language of Hong Kong and Macau and is widely spoken in Guangdong and in overseas Chinese communities. The voices here follow Hong Kong pronunciation and read Traditional Chinese text.
Voices
- HiuMaan (female, Hong Kong)
- WanLung (male, Hong Kong)
- HiuGaai (female, Hong Kong)
Tips for natural results
- Write in Traditional Chinese characters; Simplified text can sound less natural.
- Written Cantonese (words such as 嘅, 咗 and 啲) usually sounds closer to speech than formal written Chinese. Try both versions of a sentence and keep the one you prefer.
- Break long paragraphs into short sentences and use full-width punctuation to control pauses.
Good for
- Narration for Hong Kong audiences and Cantonese YouTube channels.
- Listening practice for Cantonese learners.
- Draft voice lines for apps, games and customer-service flows.
